I've been MIA for the last 10 days on this blog, primarily because life took precedence over the house. While Bill has been diligently toiling away at the last remaining vestiges of the move (the dreaded storeroom), I took a break from all things manor-related to enjoy the arrival of spring.
For one night only...
The first grade play was a smashing success, full of rapping sharks, crabby crabs, electric eels, and a diva starfish. Next time I need to get a better seat.
Easter egg hunts with the neighbors are a new family tradition.
All four families joined together for a massive Easter egg hunt and pot luck dinner. We contributed sweet potato salad and bacon-wrapped asparagus.
Escape to Philadelphia.
While the kids were on spring break, I went up to Philadelphia to meet my mom, sister, and niece. We had a marvelous mix of binge-watching Castle and Naked and Afraid and seeing historic sites like the Liberty Bell.
A good stash.
Easter morning was well-received, with all kinds of packages from far-flung loved ones, leftover candy from the previous week's egg hunt, and much discussion about the order in which one should eat a pile of candy.
All good things must end.
Bill leaves this afternoon for a week up north and I am back to the grindstone in the morning. I've been pretending not to notice the growing list of urgent emails in my inbox and the number of projects looming in the coming weeks. Between now and June is my busy time at work, with multiple trips (including possibly one to Thailand) and I need to get serious about my work schedule and routine.
